I was given this note by a server at a bar close to where I live. I was with one of my Korean teachers and a male foreigner. It was late in the evening and many drinks were had.
This young guy (probably about 20 Korean age or 18 everywhere else age) who was our server didn’t say anything to us while we were at the bar for about 2 hours. When we are getting ready to leave and I go to the bathroom to relieve myself. The guy follows me in and stands behind me while I am taking a piss at the urinal. I can see him in the mirror and he is just looking at my back. I finish, give a couple shakes…not TOO many though! I turn around and he has both his hands out holding this note (both hands out means he was being respectful at least).

“Hi (Korean smiley face) Welcome to Wa-Bar. Beside you are your girlfriend? She’s a beautiful girl. Uhm… What’s your job? I think your job is english teacher? Enjoy drinking beer. I feel english is so scald(??? maybe scary?). English is so difficult. See you again. Happy new years.”
This is why I love Korea. Random shit like this is awesome. The little guy probably spent quite a while writing this down and then had enough courage to give it to me….

I think of you whenever we pass a “Dr. Fish” (which is roughly every 50 feet here in Thailand; does that make me creepy?). What are your plans, will we be able to meet up on this side of the planet?

I wish more cool things would happen that I could write about, but it is pretty boring. I mean I work 5 days a week! Yes, it does make you kind of creepy…but in a good way! haha. I have no definite plans…I am an empty book waiting to be written! Just let me know!
